sore is an installation that explores the physical and emotional endurance involved in stripping leather from couches: an act that embodies the process of shedding and letting go. Through this act, the work reflects both the transformation of material objects and the human body, each accumulating marks and experiences over time. The installation features a series of couches and chairs that previously served a functional purpose in Beka’s studio. Providing comfort to a range of individuals, these particular objects and their functions invite contemplation on the relationship of attachment and detachment, which became a central theme of the work.
